Of the Wards

In the handling of these weapons, men use to frame many wards, all which,
because many of them carry no reason, for
that they are ether out of the straight line, either under them a man may
be easily be struck, I will cast aside as impertinent to my purpose, and
retain myself unto those three with the which a man may safely strike and
defend, whereunto all the rest may be reduced.
